Stud Service Information – French Bulldog Stud Service, Chilled Semen Shipping & AKC Breeding Requirements
Why Choose Our Studs
We provide well structured French Bulldog stud service for breeders across the continental USA. Our goal is to make the entire breeding process clear, organized, and professional. Below you’ll find a complete breakdown of what is included in our stud service, what is required from the female owner, and how our AKC French Bulldog stud service works from start to finish.
Stud Fee & Payment Terms
Full payment must be cleared before collection. No French Bulldog semen will be released, collected, or shipped until the remaining balance has been paid in full. If payment is not received in time, the breeding will be canceled with no further obligation from Once Upon A Frenchie.
Progesterone Testing & Timing Requirements
Successful timing is crucial when breeding French Bulldogs, especially with chilled semen. The female owner is responsible for:
-
All progesterone testing
-
Coordinating timing with a licensed veterinarian
-
Providing a minimum of 24 hours’ notice before semen collection
Because French Bulldogs often require precise timing, we cannot guarantee conception if testing is incorrect or veterinary handling is improper.
Additional Expenses (Not Included in Stud Fee)
The stud fee covers access to the stud — all other expenses are the responsibility of the female owner.
This includes:
-
Semen collection fees
-
Veterinary insemination costs
-
Overnight FedEx or UPS Priority shipping fees
-
Shipping supplies and handling charges
-
Storage or courier services
-
These fees are not included in the stud fee and must be paid directly by the female owner or breeding clinic.
Semen Shipping & Handling – Chilled Semen Nationwide
We offer up to two shipments of chilled French Bulldog semen, depending on heat timing and stud availability.
Important notes:
-
The female owner is responsible for arranging and paying for all overnight shipping (FedEx/UPS Priority).
-
All packaging, shipping, and clinic fees are the breeder’s responsibility.
-
Once semen is handed off to the carrier, Once Upon a Frenchie is not responsible for delays, temperature issues, mishandling, or reduced viability caused by the carrier.
Proof of Non-Pregnancy
If the female does not conceive, written veterinary confirmation is required before a repeat breeding is considered.
Acceptable proof includes:
-
An official ultrasound report
-
A written physical exam from a licensed veterinarian
Documentation must be submitted directly to Once Upon a Frenchie.
Repeat Breeding Policy
A breeding is considered successful with three (3) live puppies.
If fewer than three puppies are produced:
-
A repeat breeding may be offered until three total puppies are achieved
-
No more than two breedings are included in this agreement
-
All repeat breeding expenses (collection, shipping, vet fees) remain the owner’s responsibility
-
No refunds are provided under any circumstances
Loss of Puppies
If three or more puppies are born and later lost due to:
-
Neglect
-
Improper prenatal care
-
Failure to seek veterinary care
-
Whelping mistakes
-
Delayed or refused C-section
No repeat breeding will be granted.
The female owner is fully responsible for:
-
Proper prenatal care
-
Routine veterinary monitoring
-
Progesterone timing
-
Emergency C-section decisions
Return Service / Stud Credit
If a repeat breeding or stud credit is approved:
-
It is non-refundable
-
It may not be transferred or sold without written approval
-
If a transfer is approved, a new stud service contract must be signed before services are provided
